About Me

Name: Maarika

Gender: Female

Age: 5 years

Species: Eurasian x Tundra crossbreed

Kin: Unnamed parents (deceased), Aadolf (older brother)

Beloved: None

Offspring: None

Rank: Mercenary

Appearance: Maarika is the complete opposite of her brother in every way. Inherited from a recessive gene on her mother's side, Maarika was born with a snow white pelt, which has given her a good advantage during winter hunting. While having the size of her Eurasian wolf half, she is a bit on the smaller side due to her tundra breeding.

Maarika shares the almond colored eyes of her brother, but hers are laced with caution, fear, and anger. The only time her expression usually changes is when she is around her brother, as he is the one who keeps her calm.

Personality: Maarika was a very sweet-natured pup growing up before going to live in an all-male wolf pack with her father. Brought up as the only female pup, she quickly had to learn to defend herself from the bigger wolves. She tried to retain her sweet nature, but following her harsh training and some events she experienced that she does not wish to remember, she changed completely.

Maarika's heart has hardened and she hardly ever shows her emotions; her brother is the only exception at this point in her life. She is unwilling to trust a lot of males since her only friend during her youth, a male and the alpha's son who later committed a tragedy she cannot get over, broke her heart.

She also suffers from PTSD and frequent nightmares, which does make her a bit of an unpleasant packmate as she often screams when she wakes up. The only known wolf capable of calming her when her temper gets out of control of when she loses herself is her older brother.

History: Maarika was born as the younger of the litter, idolizing her older brother and enjoying all the playtimes they had together during their first three months. She became very angry at both of her parents when they decided to separate her and her brother, and so she grew, not knowing how he was doing or even what he was growing to look like.

Maarika's father, who died when the female reached five months old, took her to live with a different pack. It was quaint, but following her father's death, every wolf's personality turned a complete 180. As the female was too young to lead a pack, another wolf took over, not knowing about the friendship that the female would develop with his son, as he did not care much for her since to him, her bloodline was a disgrace.

Maarika was forced to begin her training shortly before her sixth month. She was developed into a living weapon, a wolf willing to kill anything and anyone. To make sure she was kept this way, the alpha trapped her in an underground hole to provide solitary, and often tortured her when she spoke up to voice her own ideas, or talked back. Maarika didn't like this at first, and quickly developed a temper. Such emotions were locked away within her when she finally broke under the torture.

Maarika willingly assisted with the attack that the alpha had been planning on another pack, not knowing it was the same one where her mother, by now deceased, and older brother had been living with. She fought whole-heartedly, obeying orders, but came to her senses upon seeing her brother. Despite having been apart for over a year, she was quick to recognize the warm look in his eye, and instead began to help him fight against the pack she had been living with prior.

Near the end of the battle, Maarika's heart was shattered when she witnessed her then-lover slaughter the alpha of the opposing pack, his own uncle. Appalled, she helped her brother with gathering the alpha's children and mate to help them in fleeing before, now a shell of her former self, allowing her brother to lead her away.

Thanks to her brother's patience and willingness to work with her, Maarika has slowly begun to open back up. She is still highly distrusting, but is usually calm and pacified when Aadolf is nearby. Since the day the battle ended she had lived and traveled with him, knowing and admitting to herself she cannot survive without him.

Voice: Maarika's voice sounds a bit raspy from all the years of screaming following each nightmare that wakes her from her sleep. She has developed a light accent from living in the European wilderness over the past few years.
